Finally a south indian name, which are made fun off at innumerable places, has a big fan following.

Gift question?

While i was a bachelor, i used to be invited by my married friends for either breakfast/lunch/dinner. I used to whole heartedly take up those invitations and enjoy the home cooked food. Unless it is a very "official" invitation, i would not buy any gifts for the hosts. Recently as a means of "Paying it forward", i have been inviting my bachelor friends for some home cooked food. One such friend always brings up one or the other gift all the time. So, is it a norm to bring gifts to "unofficial" invitations? And also I'm not sure whether i should ask him, "Dude, please let me know if you do not want to be invited" or "Dude, should we invite you more frequently"?

Appeal II and III

Indian hockey federation has appealed once again to the International hockey federation not to award penalty corners against them. Even if they do, they should not allow Taeke Takema to take the penalty corners

Indian people have appealed to the Indian hockey federation not to send players who are so fond of playing with their legs and bodies inside their own D. If they are that fond they should be allowed to train for football.

Indians do read Dilbert blog

I'm not sure why we are cribbing a lot about the way Scott Adams has spelled Gandhi. People from one state in India cannot properly pronounce spell names of people from another state. I get an extra 'h' most of the times in my name, some people miss out an 'h' from others names most of the times. That is fine. But well, we expect Americans to spell out our names properly. Yeah sure, they will.
